CUBAGUA HISTORIA Y LEYENDA (26 min)

The D'Buceo team, in its interest for investigating the effects of climate change, organizes the Cubagua, history and legend expedition.

The main objective of this expedition is to verify the state of the coral reefs, both natural and artificial, located on the coast of the island of Cubagua, in the northeast of Venezuela.

Nueva Cádiz de Cubagua, the first colonial settlement in Venezuela and South America, of ephemeral existence, remains incrusted in the popular imagination, due to the legend of the sunken city that comes to life thanks to a series of submerged monolithic structures known as the Pillars of Cubagua.

The remains of the city are also documented and explored to bring awareness of their abandonment and proposals for their rescue.
